Before I started dabbling in social media, I worked in the world of structured finance filled with cubicles, middles aged men in gray suits, and eggshell flat wall paint. My need for wardrobe self expression could not have been more suppressed. Fast forward to 2018, thanks to designers like Rebecca Taylor and Diane Von Furstenburg, women in the professional workspace have amazing options that leave them not only polished, but in style.
I’m one of those women that wakes up with a size 4 waist that gradually increases to a size 6/8 by 5pm; it’s a talent I’m very proud of {insert sarcasm here}. For this reason, I have always been a fan of dresses; not only are they just easier/quicker to put on in the morning versus a traditional pantsuit and blouse, most dresses do not require ironing. And let’s not forget, they allow for that gradual day tummy bloat most of us experience.
Add a simple black blazer or a white blouse underneath when it’s cool with some dark tights, and you’re put together in less than five minutes. Below are some of my favorites from this season with matching shoe options.

I think we can all appreciate a fashion-forward, yet functional outfit like a blazer with tights. This changing work culture, especially in the corporate setting, has opened the doors to trends like athleisure where women no longer need to keep a separate wardrobe for their work and casual clothing. Athleisure provides the perfect bridge between style and practicality that will keep you confident and moving during your long days.
I feel like the workplace is such a different environment now and definitely allows a more relaxed dress requirement. Your selections are great and definitely something you can wear outside of work too.
What¦s Happening i’m new to this, I stumbled upon this I’ve discovered It positively helpful and it has helped me out loads. I am hoping to give a contribution & aid other users like its helped me. Good job.
Work Wear has definitely changed a bit since my interview days and I love it! I love that we don’t have to feel so contained and ‘stiff’. These are great dresses and still show off a bit of personality within a professional setting.
I love the dress with the bell sleeves! How you dress makes the world of difference on how you feel
Wow I love the whole outfit but that coat is beyond adorable! I need to add it into my wardrobe!
I miss dressing up for work! Now that I work from home I keep it casual. It was always fun shopping for new fun work outfits.
I used to wear mainly dresses when I worked in corporate too. So much more comfortable and I felt much more put together.
Totally feel you on the dress front! I’m just always much more comfortable and feel less constricted in a dress. Plus, it’s a whole outfit with just one piece of clothing! Win!
I love fun and stylish work options. Since I work from home now, I don’t get to really dress up anymore, but I still enjoy doing it once in a while!
So many stylish work wear options! Great to have some alternatives to the traditional suit!
I’m a wahm and dress for work everyday. To me, it’s like making the bed first thing. A great energy boost and sense of accomplishment
I work from home, but I always dress for work. Some days I don’t put on make up but for the most part, I make a separation between work and home.
My work style has changed now that I am working from home full time. When I first started workign from home I got lazy and totally did the yoga pants every day thing – NOT GOOD. Now I make it a point to get dressed every day in outfits that are casual yet put together.
I think it’s great to kill it in a fashion sense at work! It’s called pride in one’s self!
Could NOT agree more!
I love having the option to wear different styles at work. I am lucky that we don’t have a set dress code and we are able to show our own styles.
Coming from Corporate America I’m pretty familiar with the old days uniforms. Love how times have changed some, and it’s much more creative now.
It’s fun to dress up for work and show your personal style. I think these are fab options for that! Corporate work wear doesn’t have to be boring at all!
I completely agree. I worked in a corporate environment where we had to wear a specific type of ‘uniform’ and it definitely was not exciting. Thankfully I am excited that workwear has definitely become more exciting over the last year which is a sigh of relief for the workplace!
I miss the days of working in an office where I could dress for success like this! I love that grey dress with the bell sleeves!
I don’t wear dresses but I think they look great and I definitely see the appeal. Great for work
These are great tips! Sometimes we get into an outfit rut and forget that we can pair different items with the cloths we have especially when we have been wearing them a certain way for a while.
These are some really adorable office looks. I love the idea of making sure that you are dressing for success.
I am the same – start a size 4, end a size 6/8. What is with that?! But I totally agree – a dress is the perfect way to manage our wonderful bodies (ha!). Thanks for these options and ideas – I’m not required to dress up for my 9-5 but I guess I’m old-fashioned because I still do it. It makes me feel good about myself!

Good to know I’m not the only one experiencing this awesome phenomenon!
I love this! I needed to do some shopping so this was great to see beforehand.
Those days of dressing up for work are fortunately over but I do love the ideas you have for the office. I would get those tweed pumps in a second for a different look when going out.
These are such cute options! I worked at an elementary school, so my dress was casual all the time. Now I work from home, so my dress is pj’s. lol.
I’m all about dresses too. You can get away with a big lunch that way, and clearly we have the same talent. 🙂 I work from home now, but I still like to dress up when I have a client call (dang Facetime). These looks would be great for those days.
When I worked in a lovely cubicle I felt that my only way of expressing myself was through bright bold colors and so I did a lot of dresses with bold prints and colors. I love my pictures from that time It was fantastic. When I switched to front office, it didn’t change much!
I remember the office days. I worked in a place that was business casual, so I didn’t have to get too fancy with my clothing. I was always thankful for that.
